Saturday afternoon and am suffering! Stevo playing cricket - latest news he got bowled for three runs. We survived the party although "cocktail party" doesn’t describe it really - not a cocktail in sight, I can only presume it was more a free bar at cocktail time - type label. I dressed up for the occasion (little black dress and sandals) thinking smart casual meant smart casual but No - I was practically the only one in a dress - everyone else went more casual casual..

But at least we didn’t get asked to leave the pub afterwards as one of Steve’s colleagues did! I was told in no uncertain terms when I went to his defence - "step away Maam the decision has been made!"
Still a fun night was had by all and we did indeed get to know a few more people - apparently the new geography teacher from Bristol lives in the same complex as us (the one we are moving to) - about ten flats away. They are a bit younger than us and a lot posher but we may get to know them and find that they are all right.

Bad news is I was going to have some temping work next week but it has fallen through so just the one interview to look forward to as of today - maybe I’ll get some better news on Monday.

Its bank Holiday here on Tuesday - Waitangi day - celebrating the Waitangi agreement etc (I mentioned it before in Bay of Islands tour posting) - so Steve and I have a day together again - probably just go the beach to try and save money.

Got to get back to Trade me...we are going to make some purchases tomorrow - so I have to get a watch list together. We have a bed and bedroom storage unit from our current landlady so that’s good news.
